I was 21 yrs old and a 1st time mum to a 4 month old baby girl when I discovered I was 5wks pregnant I was so excited but after blood tests indicated that I was over 5 months pregnant which wasnt possible I was sent to hospital for an early scan which was worrying as I thought there was something wrong with my baby but I was shocked and elated to discover that I was actually expecting twins - our initial thoughs of how we would we cope with 2 new born babies and a baby who would just be 1yr old quickly went and we started to get really excited about my pregnancy. My pregnancy was going well and I discovered that I was expecting identical girls who we decided to name after the 2 grandmothers . Suddenly at 25wks I went into premature labour and was taken to hospital but un-fortunately I was too far dilated to stop the labour I was really worried as I knew it was too early for my girls to be born and I was warned that they would be very poorly. Helen was only 2lb when she was born and was rushed to the intensive care unit where she stayed for the duration of her short life- this was very difficult as it meant that we couldnt hold/care or bond with our beautiful baby daughter. Helen remained poorly from the start and never showed any signs of inproving and we were told that she would probably not be strong enough to survive which she wasnt as at only 13 days old our baby girl had though enough and couldnt fight anymore.
